Approval risk is different in every plant
A transmitter that is sufficient for a utility water skid can be rejected on a chemical reactor because the approval label, seal material, or calibration record is incomplete. The industry review therefore begins with a short constraint map: variable, range, media, temperature, pressure, enclosure, output, approval region, and traceability requirement. That map keeps the selector practical and reduces the chance that a substitute SKU looks equivalent only on the first line of the datasheet.
Automation speed has to be treated as a system property
In an industrial manufacturing line, a sensor with a typical 10 ms scan may still fail the application if the bracket alignment, cable run, PLC input, or diagnostic route is wrong. Ifm reviews the loop as a connected system so that IO-Link, switching behavior, and mechanical installation can be confirmed together.
